Within Suffolk, due to our close links with the rest of the world through the Haven Gateway at Felixstowe, there are a number of firms with European and worldwide connections, e.g. shipping, logistics and travel companies. They may require staff to have multi-lingual skills. 

Jobs in County Councils often advertise for employees who are bi-lingual. Opportunities for people from ethnic minorities exist as they are often expected to act as interpreters or offer customer support to communities who do not speak English as their first language.
